Betsey passed away peacefully at the UVM Medical Center, Burlington, VT on January 2, 2022 after a brief illness, just shy of her 81st birthday. She was born January 16, 1941 in Elmore, VT. She was the loving and devoted wife of the late Richard O. Racine for 58 years. The daughter of the late Natt Buxton Delano and Margaret Lou Draper. Betsey graduated from Peoples Academy in Morrisville in 1958 and was a long-time resident of Winooski. Throughout her years, Betsey loved spending time in her beautiful flower gardens, which were her passion. She also enjoyed baking, playing scrabble and dedicated time and love taking care of numerous stray cats and dogs who needed a loving home. She loved Vermont and going for long drives along the shores of Lake Champlain or through the mountains. She loved to laugh, make people laugh, go garage saling, or to just sit and chat, telling family stories while enjoying a cold Rolling Rock. Known lovingly as Wallace and Nonnie to her family, she is survived by her sister Nancy Manosh and her husband Carl of Northport, FL. Her nieces, Karla Manosh of Northport, FL; Sally Borden and her husband Michael of Richmond, VT; Cynthia LaRosa and her friend Malcolm of Sanford, FL. A great-niece Kristina Phillips, her husband Michael and two children Margaret and Benjamin of Stoughton, MA, and great-nephew Karl Gilbeau and his daughter Victoria of Tupelo, MS. Betsey also leaves behind beloved friends Michael Gilbeau and his wife Deborah of South Burlington, VT who looked after her and cared for her in so many ways over the past few years. There are no services planned at the present time. The family will hold a graveside memorial in the Spring. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to make donations in her name to the Chittenden County Humane Society.
