Duane "Sammy" Norton passed away at his home in Hinesburg on May 3, 2026, at the age of 72. Sam was born on September 6, 1953 in Burlington Vermont to Irene Ploof. He attended Cathedral Elementary School and Burlington High School. He married Yvonne (Bourque) in 1982, and they moved to Huntington, where he resided for 35 years.

He worked his entire career as a truck driver. In his free time, Sammy especially enjoyed tinkering with his two and four-wheeled toys, or playing golf with his best friend.

He is survived by his two daughters: Alicia Norton Mead (Matthew) and Samantha Norton, his grandson Lucian Mead, and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Irene, his brother Alan, and his sisters Deborah and Tina.

Sammy will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

A celebration of life will be held on June 4, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. at the St. Johns Club, 9 Central Ave, Burlington, VT 05401.
