Colchester, VT George A. Reil Jr was born in Burlington, Vermont on February 9th, 1962. George lived his whole life in Chittenden County and passed away unexpectedly on May 17th, 2020 from an undiagnosed medical condition at his home in Colchester, Vermont. George spent his life working hard and enjoying his free time with close friends and family. He spent the last two decades working at McLures Moving and Storage, where he will be greatly missed. George will be remembered as a kind man, one who always brought laughter and fun to any occasion. George Reil is predeceased by his mother Janet Reil and father George Reil Sr, as well as his fianc Patricia Mumley and his beloved Yorkie, Willy. George is survived by his only child, his namesake George A. Reil, III; his five siblings, including three sisters who live in Florida Betty Hoffman, Ann Soutiere and Mary Richards; his only brother Michael Reil, of Burlington, VT; with special mention to his surviving sister Kathy Shortsleeve and Kathys husband Steven Shortsleeve, to whom George was very close and cared for deeply. Kathy and Steve have opened their home to Georges dog Marley, who he loved with all his heart. George leaves behind many friends and extended family members who are heartbroken and saddened by this unexpected loss. There will be a small celebration of life held among close family members and friends this weekend, with a larger gathering occurring later on due to the current social distancing parameters.
