February 13, 1953 – March 7, 2026
Janet Sue Trombly, 73, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026 in Northfield. Born Janet Russell on February 13, 1953, Janet grew up in Northfield Vermont before spending many years in Santa Barbara California, where she built a life, career, and lasting friendships.
Janet was a loving and devoted mother to her two sons, Christopher Trombly II and Zachary Trombly I. She is survived by her sons and her grandchildren, Brooklyn Trombly, Cole Trombly, and Zachary Trombly II. Her family meant everything to her, and she was always there with a helping hand, a listening ear, and a heart big enough for everyone she loved.
During her career, Janet worked for Raytheon, where she dedicated many years before retiring. After retirement, she returned home to the Green Mountain State, a place that always held a special place in her heart.
Janet loved life's simple joys. She cherished walks along the beaches of California, feeling the ocean breeze and watching the waves roll in. Back in Vermont, she enjoyed peaceful drives through the countryside, often visiting the floating bridge and taking in the beauty of the place she called home.
She had a deep love for animals and always welcomed them into her life. Janet also treasured her many friends and coworkers, holding them close to her heart and maintaining the kind of connections that lasted a lifetime.
Janet will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and the love she gave so freely to those around her.
Her family will carry her love, her kindness, and her memory with them always. The lessons she taught, the care she showed, and the love she gave will continue to live on through those who knew and loved her.
