Janice M. Lawyer, 75, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2026, with her loving family by her side.

Janice was born on August 11, 1950, at Cottage Hospital in Woodsville, NH to Pauline and William Clark, and grew up in Fairlee, Vermont. The family later moved to Bradford. Janice attended school in Bradford, graduating from Bradford Academy (class of 1968) and Champlain College. Janice's career as a bookkeeper spanned many years, having worked with Perry's Garage in Bradford; Cook, Watkins & Patch; Burlington Savings Bank; Harrington's; and Rhino Foods. Janice enjoyed her work and was highly respected by her co-workers.

On May 15, 1982, Janice married the love of her life, Carlton Lawyer, and together they made their home in Huntington, Vermont for 43 years. Janice and Carl enjoyed playing golf together, going out for breakfast, and attending family gatherings. She enjoyed playing cards with her mom and sisters, and lunch outings with close friends and family.

Janice bravely battled cancer for many years. The loving care and support from her husband, Carl, carried her through the toughest times. Janice was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Janice is survived by her husband, Carlton Lawyer, sisters Linda Welch (Bill), Penny Carrier (Wayne), Arline Stocking (Steven), brother Stephen Clark (Patricia), sister-in-law Ruth Little, special aunt Shirley Carignan, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Pauline Clark, mother-in-law Marjorie Lawyer, sisters-in-law Loretta Poulin and Betty Lawyer, and brothers-in-law James Lawyer, Charles Lawyer, Martin Carrier, and Jerry Welch.

A celebration of Janice's life will be held at the Community Church of Huntington on May 9th, at 11:00 AM. A reception will follow in the church annex.
