Janie Sue Horvath passed away suddenly at the Medical Center of Vermont surrounded by loved ones on April 3, 2021.
Janie was born Sept 22, 1958, to Arthur and Mary Horvath in Rutland, Vermont. She went to grade school at Southeast School in Rutland, Vermont, and graduated from Rutland High School. She received her Bachelors Degree from The College of St. Joseph The Provider.
She is survived by her son Joshua Horvath of Clarendon, Vermont and his companion Carrie Bashaw, her brother Edward Horvath and wife Kim of Rutland Town and a sister Marianne Connor and husband Jim of Las Vegas, Nevada, several nieces, a nephew, great-nieces, and nephews, and cousins. . She was predeceased by her sister Martha Pockette.
Growing up she loved to ride horses with her sisters and enjoyed family vacations in Maine. She rode dirt bikes with her brother in the fields surrounding their home. She was a downhill skier and loved to ice skate.
In later years she spent time fishing and camping with her son Josh. Janie always had a dog and recently had 2 dogs which were great companions. She was an animal lover for sure.
Janie's hobbies included tending to her flower gardens and playing bingo. She enjoyed playing slots at Saratoga casino with her best friend Sue.
She worked at the Vermont Country Store, The Cortina Inn, and in earlier years The Sunset Restaurant with her friend Rick Willey.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date by the family.
