Joan G. Hamel, 77, of Huntington, Vermont died Sunday, June 22, 2025, after a brief illness.

Joan was born March 5, 1948. She was the daughter of George L. and Leota C. Hamel. She was a graduate of BHS Class of 1967. She was married to Gary Carpenter October 9, 2014.

She is survived by her husband Gary and stepson Shawn; her sisters Carol Thibault, Paula H. and Ronald J. Line; and her sisters-in-law Sally Parfitt and Barbara Hamel. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews as well as many great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, brothers Norman, Maurice, and Douglas Hamel; and brother-in-law Richard Thibault.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 3, at 11:00am at Lakeview Cemetery, North Avenue, Burlington.
