Obituary

Joanne Della Pratt passed away on 4/28/2025. Joanne was born in 1936 to Olive and

Elmer in Chelsea Vermont where she and her three brothers Richard, Johnny and

Wendel grew up. Her parents were hard-working, resilient and resourceful people. Her

mother taught her life skills that would later provide a source of income and be a

ministry to others.

Joanne conserved two children from her first marriage, Marriane and James. She

married Louis J. Tracy in 1969. In 1970 they gave birth to their daughter Lisa.

Joanne worked many jobs from being a meat cutter, fire department dispatcher to a

highly skilled upholster and seamstress. In the 1970's she and her husband started the

Tracy's Upholstery Shop that was open for many years. As the Lord called her and

Louis into the ministry she quickly transitioned into ministering to people in need.

She ran the kitchen soup meals and shared her love of cooking with people in need.

Her early years were not easy, because of that she had a tender heart for people who

needed a helping hand. She knew the love of Jesus and what He did for her. She

wanted everyone to know that love and to feel it when they walked into the church.

Later in years She and Louis moved to the Vergennes area where they enjoyed their

final years close to their daughter. She will be greatly missed by all, however long

remembered for her kindness, prankster personality and love of Jesus.

Her smile was noted by all. People so often commented about how welcomed they felt

because they would see a smile that received them. Up until the week she passed she

shared the love of God in her life with others. She would say if you knew my testimony,

you will know why I smile. She did not pass fearfully. She said I know my Lord and the

promises He gives us, I HAVE NO FEAR.

Thank you for the job well done you are loved.

A celebration of life service will be held for Joanne and Louis on 10/10 at 10 AM at the Washington Baptist Church, in Washington, VT
