Obituary

John Andrew Angelo of Falmouth, MA, died on May 22 after a long illness, at the UVM Medical Center in Burlington, VT. He was 22 years old. John was a 2017 graduate of Falmouth High School, where he was a member of the Wind Ensemble and Honors Jazz Band, as well as the Music and Math Honor Societies. He was selected in both sophomore and senior years to All-Cape Band, and he played trombone, euphonium and trumpet. He attended Champlain College, majoring in networking and cybersecurity. John was a vocal proponent for social justice and civil rights, and was passionate in his support for Senator Bernie Sanders 2016 presidential campaign. John worked summers during high school and college at Ben and Bills in downtown Falmouth, worked after school at the Boys and Girls Club of Cape Cod, and was very proud of his internship as a computer programmer at SAQUS in Falmouth. In addition to his love of music and computers, he enjoyed longboarding, baseball, playing chess and video games, learning guitar, and his friendships. John struggled with mental illness and addiction in the last years of his life. He was greatly loved and will always be in our hearts. John is survived by his parents, Steve and Ginny Angelo, his sisters Erin and Stephanie, and their families. In addition, he is survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, his niece, three nephews, and treasured family friends. A private memorial service is being planned.
