Steven R. Smith, 73, passed away on August 7, 2025, at McClure Miller Respite House in Colchester, VT. Steven was born on January 20, 1952, in Lebanon, NH, to parents Walter Stanley and Pauline Eva (Guyette) Smith.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lizabeth Hawxhurst Smith; step-son, Keith Hawxhurst; brother, Richard Smith and sister, Linda Stone.

Steve is survived by his step-daughter, Melinda Hawxhurst; several step-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Rose Stone and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Steve loved to work with his hands and was a fine craftsman. He loved to make Native American lamps, jewelry and knives. In 2006, in collaboration with his wife Liz, Steve created Hawksmith Custom Horn Design for his crafts.

Steve was a good friend to many. He had the gift of gab. Everyone that knew Steve will tell you "he was a great guy".
