Timothy G.
Mccarvell
Jan 14, 1953 — Mar 30, 2021
Timothy G. McCarvell, 68 of Burlington, VT passed away on March 30, 2021, after a lengthy illness.
Tim was born on January 14, 1953, to Edward and Leona (Germain) McCarvell in Burlington, VT.
He graduated from Rice Memorial High School in 1971, attended UVM, and earned an Associates Degree in Liberal Studies from CCV in 1989.
He was self-employed for many years and was a perfectionist at his job.
Tim was also an avid reader and spent many afternoons at The Fletcher Free Library. He especially enjoyed doing The New York Times crossword puzzles and keeping up on current events. Due to the closing of the library because of COVID, he lost his outlet to do what he liked best. It was a crucial lifeline for him. He also loved identifying the local bird species.
While receiving radiation treatment he always walked to the hospital but did occasionally use SSTA during inclement weather. He did not want to rely on others or lose his independence.
Of those who knew him, he was very intelligent. Ask him a question and he would have the answer. It was very difficult to stump him.
He is survived by brothers Merrill Jarvis, James Jarvis, George Jarvis (Pat) and Steve Jarvis (Nancy) and sisters Maureen Companion and Melanie McCarvell.
Tim was predeceased by, his parents, paternal and maternal grandparents, sisters-in-law Lucille Jarvis and Joyce Jarvis, and brother-in-law Bernard Companion.
Also spoke of his friends John and Duke who he missed seeing because of COVID restrictions.
Many thanks to Dr. Jessica Cintolo-Gonzalez, her team, and all the staff at UVMMC for his care during his lengthy stay. And to Father Tim for being there when he was needed.
Special thanks to Colleen Matte for the many care packages she sent. They were appreciated more than you know.
At Tims request, there will be no services or funeral. Burial services will be held at the convenience of the family.
